MendWave PEMF Pro40 Manual

Quick Start Guide

1. Getting Started

Step 1 — Connect the Coil

Insert the coil plug into the port on the MendWave controller and
twist it into place

Step 2 — Power On

Connect the power adapter to the PEMF device and turn the knob controller to the voltage/gauss you desire.

The display will illuminate and show the frequency Hz (top number) and duty cycle % (bottom number)

Step 3 — Position the Coil

Place the soft padded coil directly over the area you want to support. You can use it over clothing — no direct skin contact is required.

2. Choose Your Settings

Frequency (top number)

*please note: When the frequency reading shows 0.001 that is = 1 Hz; 0.010 = 10 Hz; 0.100 = 100Hz (basically, just ignore the period and that's the correct frequency.)

General Frequency Guide:

  • 1–10 Hz: relaxation, grounding, general wellness
  • 10–30 Hz: mobility, comfort, post activity recovery
  • 30–100 Hz: alertness, energy, daily support

List of Comprehensive PEMF Frequencies

Duty Cycle (bottom number)

This is the percentage of time the device is actively emitting a magnetic field ("on" time) compared to the total time of one complete pulse cycle ("on" + "off" time). It measures how much energy is delivered, with a lower duty cycle (e.g., 20%) meaning more rest time between pulses, allowing for better tissue recovery and lower intensity

Duty Cycle (10-20%): Commonly used in therapeutic devices to avoid overheating and to provide "rest" periods for cells, which can enhance treatment effectiveness.

  • up to 10% For sleep and relaxation - to prevent over-stimulation. Coil will stay mostly cool.
  • 10-20% Standard for pain and inflammation (typical sessions are 15 to 30 minutes) Coil will get warm.
  • 25 -35% Used for short sessions (5 minutes only) Targets deeper healing. Increase duty cycle for chronic, stubborn conditions or deeper tissue penetration.

FYI: At 25-35%: Coil will be noticeably warm. You can place a towel between you and the coil for cooler treatment.

  • Duty Cycle Max: 35%

ON Button
Turns the power on to the PEMF coil. The word OUT will appear on the screen when power is going out to the coil.

Intensity/Gauss

Use the power supply knob to to increase or decrease intensity. Start low and adjust gradually based on comfort.(see below for additional gauss setting info)

Session Time

  • Typical Session Duration: 10 to 30 minutes per treatment

4. During Your Session

  • You may feel nothing, or a gentle pulsing or warmth — this is normal.
  • Keep the coil comfortably in place.

5. After Your Session

  • Turn off the device and unplug the coil.
  • Store MendWave in a cool, dry place.
  • Many users incorporate PEMF into their daily routine or several times per week.

⚠️Important Safety Information

Do not use PEMF if you:

  • Have a pacemaker or implanted electrical device
  • Are pregnant
  • Have epilepsy or a seizure disorder
  • Have active bleeding
  • Have a serious medical condition without consulting a healthcare professional

Additional Information

  • Do not open or modify the device – This will void your warranty

Gauss/Intensity

Gauss Strength: The MendWave Pro40 is adjustable from about 3 to 45 gauss.

  • Gauss determines penetration: The deeper the target tissue is (e.g., hip joint), the higher the intensity required to ensure the magnetic field effectively reaches the area.

Low Intensity (0.1–10 Gauss): Suitable for sensitive individuals, relaxation, long-term use, and daily maintenance.

Medium Intensity (10–100 Gauss): Effective for localized, chronic conditions and injury recovery.

*More Isn't Always Better: Higher intensity does not always equal better results; the goal is to find the "sweet spot" that triggers healing without causing discomfort – Start lower and let your body get use to it.

How to Adjust The Gauss Strength:

Power Supply - voltage controller knob

The knob on the power supply turns the voltage up and down. *This controls the gauss level of the loops.

The strength is adjustable from about 3 to 45 gauss.

  • To lower the gauss strength, turn the voltage on the power supply down

  • To turn the gauss up, turn the voltage up

Possible Side Effects:

While PEMF is safe and non-invasive, minimal reported side effects usually result from the body adjusting to treatment, such as mild dizziness, headache, fatigue, or tingling.

These rare effects are typically temporary, resolving quickly with increased hydration or adjusted session intensity.

Precautions and Contraindications

While side effects are rare, PEMF should be avoided or used with caution in certain cases:

Medical Devices:

Those with pacemakers or other implanted devices should avoid it due to potential interference.

Pregnancy:
Not recommended due to lack of studies.

Health Conditions:

Anyone with an implanted electronic device, active cancer, epilepsy, or those who are pregnant should avoid or consult a doctor before using PEMF.
*It's recommended that anyone with a serious medical condition should consult their doctor prior to use.

*It is recommended to drink plenty of water before and after sessions and to consult a professional if new symptoms arise.

Understanding PEMF

*Please Note: It is normal to not feel PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) device during treatment, as they are designed to be non-sensation, non-invasive, and silent

Lack of sensation does not mean the device is not working; the magnetic fields penetrate tissues to promote cellular repair, which is not felt like heat or vibration. *Some people can feel a warmth or a slight pulsing.

Testing Your PEMF

You can check that the device is working by using the enclosed magnet. Turn the device on and place the magnet between your finger. Hold the magnet next to or on the loop and you can feel the pulsing.*Watch the video
