PEMF FAQ

Q: Why don't I feel any pulsing or vibrations when using my PEMF device?

It's completely normal to not feel anything during PEMF therapy and doesn't mean it is not working. The therapy is designed to be non-invasive, and painless, operating at a cellular level. Most users experience no sensation, while others may notice a gentle pulsing or warmth.

Q: How do I check that my PEMF device is working?

You can test your PEMF device by using the small magnet that is included with your order. Turn your device on and turn the duty cycle up to around 35%.

Hold the magnet between your thumb and index finger and place it on or next to the loop. You should be able to feel the magnetic frequency pulsing. *See video at end of page

Q: I have metal implants. Will the PEMF do any harm to me?

Passive metal implants like titanium plates, screws, and joint replacements are generally considered safe for PEMF therapy, as the magnetic fields pass around the metal to the surrounding tissue. While they typically do not heat up or cause harm, it is important to consult a healthcare provider, especially if you have sensitive or non-titanium implants.

Q: Who should not use PEMF therapy?

PEMF therapy should not be used by individuals with implanted electrical devices (pacemakers, cochlear implants), pregnant women, those with active bleeding/hemorrhaging, those with epilepsy/seizures, or anyone with a serious medical condition should consult a healthcare professional before use.

Q: Is the scientific evidence that PEMF really works?

Yes, there's over 60 years of Scientific evidence that Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy works, with significant studies confirming its efficacy in reducing pain, enhancing mobility in osteoarthritis, and promoting bone repair.

Q: Is PEMF Therapy Safe?

Yes, PEMF has decades of research on safety and effectiveness. Approved by the FDA for specific orthopedic issues since 1979, PEMF uses low-frequency electromagnetic fields to modulate inflammation, improve circulation, and stimulate tissue regeneration.

Q: What's the difference between targeted PEMF therapy (Mendwave Loop) vs. a PEMF mat?

Targeted PEMF therapy focuses higher-intensity energy directly on specific areas of the body, allowing for deeper penetration and more effective support for joints, muscles, and localized discomfort. While mats typically have low intensity and are more for daily wellness. targeted PEMF is designed for precise, therapeutic relief where it’s needed most.

Q: How often can PEMF therapy be used?

Many people use PEMF daily or several times per week. Consistency is often key for optimal results. Sessions are usually between 15-30 minutes.

Q: Are there any side effects with PEMF?

There are rare cases in which the patient will experience temporary fatigue, mild discomfort, or small changes in sleep patterns. Those are the exception rather than the
rule, however, and they only last a short time while the body acclimates to the treatment.

Q: Is PEMF Therapy Safe For Dogs?

Yes, PEMF has been studied for decased for both human and animal application and shown to be safe.
